Mark Fisher. Appointed May 2007/2011
Vice Chair of the Council 2008 - 2010, Chair 2007-8.
Originally from the south coast, I have degrees in Biochemistry and worked in the pharmaceutical industry and then a teaching hospital in America. On returning, I left science and developed other work in landscape design, rural research and small business advice. Diana and I moved to Baildon in 1989 and have been walking its moor and woodlands ever since. I stood for the parish council as I believe it is important for local government to be as close to the people it serves as possible. Gill Dixon. Co-opted Feb 2012
I have lived in Baildon since 1986, and enjoy the semi-rural location on the edge of the moors, but also the proximity to Leeds and Bradford, all accessible from our local railway station! Having raised three sons here, who all attended local primary and secondary schools, I have been involved in many aspects of community life over the years, including 10 years as a school governor of Tong Park First and Ladderbanks Middle schools. I have had a long career mainly in Local Government (Bradford and Craven) , and I am keen to use my experience to local benefit. I look forward to working with others to help Baildon to go from strength to strength! Contacts: Email - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. |

Chris Flecknoe. Appointed May 2011
I first moved to Baildon in 1982. I have been employed for many years in community development work with local authorities and voluntary organisations. Until 2010, I was privileged to be Bradford Council's Area Co-ordinator for the Shipley Constituency, which includes Baildon. This work enabled me to gain a wide experience of the work of local government at both District and Parish level. I chaired Neighbourhood Forums across the Constituency, including many in Baildon. I was also able to assist with the new Baildon Parish Plan. I am an active member of Baildon Methodist Church, a school governor, a member of the Management Committee for the HALE healthy living project. Becoming a Parish Councillor provides a new challenge for me and I hope to be able to contribute to developing and supporting initiatives which will bring improvements to the local quality of life. I was born, educated, and live in Baildon. I retired from the British Army in 2011 as a Sergeant in the Royal Corps of Signals, where I trained as a Communications Operator, Physical and Adventure Training Instructor and Logistics Specialist. Whilst recovering from injury, I wrote a children’s book called ‘April’s Pond’, and won an academic prize in Health and Social Care. In my spare time I am a School Governor for Glenaire Primary School, and I am leading an environmental project in the Ferniehurst Dell. I also enjoy rock climbing on Baildon Bank, cycling, chess, hen keeping, and skydiving, completing over 950 parachute jumps. As a Liberal Democrat, it was an honour to be elected on to the Parish Council, and I promise to continue listening, working hard, and getting things done for my local area. I will do my very best to represent everyone, whether they voted for me or not. If there is anything I can help with please get in touch.
