Warden Feedback

The Baildon Parish Council Environmental Warden will use this section to provide information about their work.

Following the resignation of Keith the Parish Council have decided to spend a few months trialling a new working arrangement with the Shipley Wardens. These Wardens did not exist when Baildon Parish Council decided to employ a Warden so it seems reasonable to see if the Shipley Wardens can adequately meet the needs of Baildon Parish Council.

Offroad motorcycles and 4 x 4's on Baildon Moor

E-mail Print PDF

Motorcycles and 4 x 4's on Baildon Moor have been a problem over many years, recent closures of recognised sites in the area has resulted in increased activity in and around Baildon Moor and Shipley Glen. It is not only illegal to use motor vehicles in these locations but it is also causing a nuisance and danger to other users of the moors. Quite often the vehicles are used on public roads to get to these locations without the correct insurance or equipment, in some instances stolen vehicles have been used. I have liased with West Yorkshire Police and the Countryside service to try and solve the problem, steps where possible will be taken to prevent people from braking the law in this area. The Police need reliable information as to when and where these incidents are taking place to formulate a plan of action. If you do see a motorcycle or 4 x 4 on the moor or Shipley Glen then contact West Yorkshire Police on 0845 6060606, A popular location for the motorcycles is the old quarry at the far end of Shipley Glen just before the track to Crook Farm Caravan Park. Fly posting

E-mail Print PDF

Flyposting (the attaching of commercial advertising material to street furniture and buildings belonging to another without permission) is not only unsightly but is also illegal. Contrary to the provisions of the Regulations (Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 1992.

Over the last few months this type of incident has been on the increase in the Baildon area, I have received a number of complaints regarding this matter, it is my intention to remove all advertising that falls within this area and contact the persons responsible and advise them of the possible consequences. Work has already started in the village centre and most if not all the signs have now been removed, I will attempt over  the coming weeks to remove as many as I can from the surrounding area and keep a check on any new ones that appear. Should anyone see any that I have missed then please let me know on 07538380921 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Fly posting (fixing of unauthorised commercial signs to street furniture and buildings without the permission of the owner) over the last few months has been on the increase in the Baildon Area, this not just unsightly but is also illegal and is contrary to the provisions of the Regulations (Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 1992. The vast majority in the village centre have now been removed and I will be dealing with other incidents in the area over the next few weeks. If I can trace who posted the signs then they will be warned that if this continues leagal action maybe taken. If anyone sees any commercial signs on street furniture then please contact me and I will arrange for them to be removed.

Fly Tipping on Baildon Moor

E-mail Print PDF

Over the last few days Fly Tipping has appeared on Baildon Moor again, this was a large amount of household rubbish that had been dumped in the layby on Hawksworth Rd, opposite what used to be the Whitehouse Restaraunt. If anyone has any information regarding the identity of the culprits then please contact me in an effort to bring them to justice. The penalties for Fly tipping are severe and it is an offence that can effect us all, so if you can help then please do so. I have secured a certain amount of evidence from the site that may assist in identifying who dumped it but any more would be greatfull.

E-mail Print PDF

Phase 2 of the litter bins is about to commence.

There are 5 new locations for the installation of litter bins as part of the Parish Councils plan to resolve the issue of dog fouling not being cleaned up.

 The five locations are as follows;

       1)   Bank Walk near to the footpath leading to the Bank

       2)   West Lane near foorpath at side of Sandals School

       3)   Green Rd at bottom of stairs near Old Sandals School

       4)   Cliffe Lane West near to junction with Enfield Rd

       5)   Meadowside Rd near footpath to Tong Park

The bins will be installed over the next few weeks and is part of the plan to reduce the amount of dog fouling not cleaned up by dog owners, other measures are new signs warning of penalties and stickers on the bins informing people that dog mess can be deposited in them.
