Warden Feedback

The Baildon Parish Council Environmental Warden will use this section to provide information about their work.

Following the resignation of Keith the Parish Council have decided to spend a few months trialling a new working arrangement with the Shipley Wardens. These Wardens did not exist when Baildon Parish Council decided to employ a Warden so it seems reasonable to see if the Shipley Wardens can adequately meet the needs of Baildon Parish Council.

Entrance to Baildon Moor near Golf Club

 Brantcliffe Drive j/w Springfield Rd

Playbuilder Funding

E-mail Print PDF

I have submitted an expression of interest to the Playbuilder Funding Scheme for funding to improve play facilities within the Baildon Area. I have identified two site that are in need of substantial refurbishment and may benefit from this funding. Southcliffe Way Play Area and Tong Park Playground are the two sites identified, the aim of the funding is to provide challenging, exiting play facilities for all children of abilities and disabilities. This is at a very early stage and there is no guarantee that we will be successful, the scheme is very heavily over subscribed, infact 56 applications of interest have been received. Bradford has to deliver a minimum of 22 projects, 11 to be completed by March 2010 and 11 by March 2011. There is a long way and a lot of hard work to go, but if we are determined I'm sure that we will be able to put a good case forward. I hope to arrange a consultation meeting with residents and children of the area in order that your views can considered. I will post details as to when and where this meeting will take place soon. The closing date for the stage 2 applications is the 15th May 2009 so we don't have a lot of time.

Litter Bin Update

E-mail Print PDF

I have now completed an audit of all litter bins currently situated within the Baildon area these do not include bins situated inside Roberts Park as these are under review as part of the redevelopment project. We currently have 77 litter bins throughout the area most are emptied twice a week depending on usage. We currently have funding for additional bins to try and combat the dog fouling problem and will be sited subject to a site survey at locations where we hope they will be most effective. Funding from the Shipley Area Community Clean up Campaign has been secured to provide three extra bins on Shipley Glen spread out so as to cover as much of the Glen as possible. I will constantly monitor the effectiveness of these bins and if necessary additional bins may be placed at a later date. Once all the new bins are in place The Parish Council is funding stickers that will be placed on each and every bin indicating that dog waste can be deposited here. This will be a first for the Bradford Area and if successful could be rolled out over the whole district.
