I am one of the 2 Councillors for the Baildon East ward.

I was born Cleethorpes 1952. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Liverpool University and came to Bradford in 1976.

I married Kathie in 1979 and moved to Baildon in 1984. I have 4 children.

I spent several years, by choice, as a house husband, looking after the house, managing everyone's time and diet, being referee, nurse, etc.

For many years I wrote computer applications to help with my work in engineering until my last few jobs which have actually been in IT departments. I now work for Pace plc in Salt's Mill, Saltaire.

I have been promoting Baildon on my own website for a number of years and more recently, as a result of the Urban Village - Baildon Futures Partnership, I have been the Web Master of the Baildon Village website under the ownership of the Baildon Community Council.

I enjoyed making a contribution to the work of the Community Council and when the formation of the Baildon Parish Council was approved I decided to try and take an active part in the new Council. I hope that I can help guide Baildon and its Parish Council in many diverse areas of benefit to Baildon.

Originally from the south coast, I have degrees in Biochemistry and worked in the pharmaceutical industry and then a teaching hospital in America. On returning, I left science and developed other work in landscape design, rural research and small business advice.

Diana and I moved to Baildon in 1989 and have been walking its moor and woodlands ever since.

I stood for the parish council as I believe it is important for local government to be as close to the people it serves as possible.

Denis Colman was co-opted onto the South East ward on 14th July 2008.

Denis has been married for 50 years and moved to Baildon 12 months ago to be closer to his brother who lives in Shipley.

He has considerable experience of Parish Council work having been on Cononley Parish Council in North Yorkshire for seven years. Denis hopes to ensure that the Parish Council continues to be a pleasant and secure place for people to live.

I am one of two councillors for South Ward. I was born in 1988, making me the youngest member of the Council. All of my schooling was in Baildon (Sandal First, Ladderbanks Middle and Salt Grammar) and I am currently studying for a degree in Geography and Politics at the University of Sheffield. I was co-opted in October 2008 following a resignation.

Prior to being a parish councillor I was actively involved in local affairs from 2002 onwards: Baildon Community Council, Shipley Area Panel Advisory Group, Baildon Futures Partnership, Baildon Proposed Parish Council Steering Group and Baildon In Bloom. I have also been an Associate Governor of Salt Grammar School and the Chair of the School Council.

I was born in Boston Linconshire and moved to West Yorkshire when I was five. I have lived in Baildon since 1977. I studied Chemistry at Bradford University,obtaining a Ph.D. in Structural Chemistry. I worked in the chemical industry before going on to become a teacher. In addition to my roles on Baildon and Bradford Councils I am a governor of Hoyle Court Primary School and Shipley College.
